Sunbonnet Sue (2009)

My Sunbonnet Sue quilt from “Nobody’s Home” contrasts the inherent passivity of textiles with the aggression of modern day weapons. In it, Sue is a traditional, passive, and innocent character, rendered modern and dangerous. The weapons she holds are at once frightening and comical.
